Why is everyone a zi-on-ist?! Except everyone's Mayor Mamdani, of course.
I don’t know if it’s because I’m white, privileged, naive or just oblivious, but I’m shocked by how many people are Zi0nists and/or idiots. I always knew the media was corrupt, but I had no idea that most of Hollywood believed in the oppression, abuse, and colonisation of the Pal-stinian people.
What’s even more shocking is that, in the midst of all this, Marjorie Taylor-Greene is saying things that make sense—like ‘America should stop funding it.’
Just to be clear: Zi-on-ism is a modern political ideology. It is not the same as Juda-ism, which is an ancient religion.
Last week, I had to dump a piece I’d written for UnBluffed because I had unknowingly praised a Zi0nist—Dr Orna G of Couples Therapy (who I’m extremely disappointed in). Aside from emailing Penny Wong weekly, my small retaliations include avoiding companies profiting from the ongoing gen0cide and actively ignoring all Zi0nists. Which is harder than it sounds— basically I can’t watch anything made in Hollywood unless it has Susan Sarandon in it.
Turns out: Jerry Seinfeld is a passionate IDF-supporter (and evil monster), David Schwimmer is a propagandist who’s ruined Friends, and Debra Messing… wow. Not only has Debra Messing publicly defended Is-rael’s obscene actions, she posted an Instagram story calling the now mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani a ‘jihadist’ (an Islamic extremist) and ‘communist’.
Meanwhile, she calls herself a ‘feminist’ while advocating for an (alleged) sexual predator for mayor. Honestly. White women can be so embarrassing. (And many need to Google ‘what is communism’.) But giving Debra Messing a society and culture lesson is for another day…
Because today, like so many others around the world, I’m taking heart in a socialist Muslim immigrant becoming mayor of New York City. Despite the 1% running a racist, fear-mongering smear campaign—which cost them more than Mamdani will tax them!—to elect an (alleged) sexual predator rather than a brown man who believes in human rights, Mamdani won. Truth won. The people won.
So, to sum up, billionaires spent $22 million on lies and achieved nothing. Here’s the spreadsheet:
You have to wonder how much they spent when Arnold Schwarzenegger, a fellow immigrant, ran for governor of California?
The most refreshing part of Mamdani’s campaign is that he remained proudly pro-Palestine, pro-trans, and an ally for all people throughout. A Muslim immigrant who met his wife on Hinge (their next ad writes itself). Plus he just announced an all female transition team.
So why should we care, here in Australia, thousands of kilometres away? Sadly, because our country is hell-bent on copying America. This is a sign that might not always be a terrible thing.
But for me personally, it’s hope—particularly after Albo being such a massive let down. Mamdani makes me believe that the rare breed of politicians that really care are still out there. The Gough Whitlams, if you will. When we elected Albo, I thought we had a decent, left-leaning guy who was finally going to do what he promised. Instead, like all bad situationships, it’s been nothing but empty promises, back-traking, and befriending badly fake-tanned liars.
Albo has proven to be just another power-hungry white man who cares more about holding on to his position than his principles. Maybe Mamdani will disappoint too, who knows. My instincts say he won’t. Regardless, Mamdani’s shown the world that you can stick to your values, even when the entire establishment is against you, and come out on top.
And honestly, it’s just nice to see a bunch of too-rich-for-their-own-good people lose.
Despite my viewing options now being limited to shows and movies that are either Irish-made, with Susan Sarandon in it, or straight up Ms Rachel, I’m glad for the wake up call. Hollywood sucks, but the people of NYC clearly know what’s up. Hope is alive and well.
